Answers

  1. What is the price for an overnight stay?
That depends: if you’re staying in a dormitory or in a room. For the prices, please check the price-survey.
  2. What are the facilities at the Simplon Youth hotel for overnight staying?
We have 3 large dormitories from 18 to 20 beds with a total of 58 beds. We have 1 single room and 1room for upto 6 persons. We have 2 rooms for upto 4 persons
and 9 rooms for max. 3 persons.
  3. What does a reservation for an overnight stay include?
When you make a reservation for a bed at a large dormitory you’ll get a fitted-sheet and a pillow-case. Besides that you’ll have the choice to have breakfast for € 5,50 per person per night. There is also the possibility to rent sheets and blankets which costs € 2,50. You only pay this once, so if you stay 3 nights you pay € 2,50.
When you reserve a room: the bed covers, towel with shampoo and small soap and breakfast are included.
For every overnight stay we are required to charge € 1,40 local tourist-tax.
  4. Is it necessary to make a reservation?
You’re not obliged to make a reservation, but we recommend it. If you want to stay during the weekend, you should make a reservation because we’re often fully booked during the weekends.
  5. How can I make a reservation?
You can make a reservation using the reservation form on this site. You can also make a reservation by phone, fax or e-mail. The reservation is final when you receive a confirmation. To make a reservation we need your name, full address and phone number.
  6. Are there any costs for making a reservation?
Since November 01, 2011 there are no fees associated with making a reservation.
  7. Can I cancel an already made reservation?
It is possible to cancel a reservation: the confirmation letter will give you the details of the cancellation date.
  8. Until what time can I check-in?
When you’ve made a reservation, you have to check in before 22.00 hours. After that time the reserved beds and/or rooms can be given to other guests. If you know in advance that you will not arrive before 22.00 hours, please let us know. Without a reservation it is possible to check in until 02.00 hours.
  9. Is there a curfew at night?
If you check in before 02.00 hours you can come in all night. There’s no curfew.
  10. Do I always have access to the dormitories?
The hostel is closed between 12.00 and 15.00 hours because of cleaning. You’re not allowed to stay in the dormitories or rooms during those hours. When you’re staying in a room (not dormitory) for more nights, it is possible to stay there between 12.00-15.00. Inform the reception if you want to do this.
  11. At what time do I have to check out?
You have to check out at 12.00 hours at the latest.
  12. Do I need to bring my own sleeping bag?
If you sleep in a dormitory, you can bring your own sleeping bag or bed covers. If you want you can rent bed covers from the hotel which costs 2,50 regardless of the number of nights you’ll stay. The rooms are provided with all the necessary bed covers.
  13. Can I have breakfast at the Youth hotel ? What does it cost, till what time?
While staying in a room, breakfast is included in the price. If you stay in any of the dorms, you can reserve breakfast for € 5,00 per person per night. Breakfast is served between 07.00 and 11.00 hours. If you want your breakfast at an earlier time, please let as know as soon as possible (preferably when making a reservation).
  14. Can I get a packed lunch?
For the price of € 5,50 you can get a packed lunch or you can have lunch at the hotel. Please inform us when you make your reservation.
  15. Can I bring pets to the hotel?
You’re not allowed to bring any pets with you. We do however make an exception for guide-dogs. If you wish to stay at the hotel with a guide-dog, please let us know while making a reservation.
  16. Can I leave my bicycle safely at the hotel?
We have a secure bicycle park space for a limited number of bicycles. If you do leave your bicycle at the hotel, it will be at your own risk.
  17. Can I park my car at the hotel?
The hotel doesn’t have its own parking space. You can park your car on the Boterdiep (you have to pay for this), or in a parking garage, about 50 m from the hotel.
  18. Are there any lockers at the hotel?
When you pay a € 10,00 deposit at the desk, you get a key for a locker. You can return the key at the end of your stay, and then get the deposit back.
  19. Can I do my laundry at the hotel?
For € 4,50 you can use our washer and dryer.
  20. Can I phone/fax/use the internet at the hotel?
For a fee, guests can use our fax. We also have FREE WIFI internet acces.
  21. Can I get a discount with my membership card from the (international) youth hostel association?
We are an independent organisation, not a member of any youth hostel association, which means that you can’t get a discount.
  22. Can I get a discount by showing my CJP?
CJP-holders get a discount on the price for a stay in a dormitory (including breakfast). This discount is a set price of € 1,45 per person per night.

    You pay at arrival.
  24. In which way can I pay?
