Where 'art' thou?

Modern or classic, ceramic, paintings, pictures and installations: there is always something to see for the art lover. There are many galleries and museums in Groningen, here just a few:

This is a fine example of the old and new combined. The gallery is centrally laid within the centre of the Martinikerkhof and the St. Walburgstraat. It used to be a presbytery and a villa and now it is this beautiful gallery: a lively and surprising stage where Groninger artists can show their work. Art society Pictura was founded in 1832 to stimulate the arts in Groningen and was the precursor of the Groninger Museum.

Gallery Ann’s art
The gallery exists for more then 20 years and is located at Munnekeholm 8.
In the front part of the gallery are at least 8 exhibitions a year.
The offer is very diverse: Ann’s Art has both abstract & figurative art, the range is characterized by quality, originality and a good technique. On the upper floor, space is made free for extensive graph collection and small sculptures. The works may be rented or bought.
Behind the gallery is a permanent sculpture garden, which can be visited throughout the year.

Han Vos
Art shop Han Vos is an accessible art shop situated in a warehouse in a nice, fun street in the University quarter of Groningen. You can find a surprising choice of figurative paintings from the Haagse School and the Groninger Ploeg. There is also a large collection of Chinese porcelain and art from the Han- and Tang dynasty. The shop is at the Kleine Kromme Elleboog 6.
